Friday, June 7th will be the 10th National Gun Violence Awareness Day, followed by Wear Orange Weekend, June 8-9, 2024. During #WearOrange, everyone who believes we can and must solve the problem of gun violence in America will take action and stand together in a bold statement of resilience and fortitude as we advance our efforts to prevent gun violence.
Wear Orange is an opportunity to demonstrate as a community that there is a need to prevent gun violence. By coming together with a wide range of organizations, candidates, elected officials and influencers, we can find ways to curb gun violence.
Team Linda is facilitating the St. Charles Wear Orange gathering this year on Friday, June 7th at 6:30 at St Charles City Hall (near the bridge).
Please join the many people in our community who care about gun safety. Participants will include mayors, students, moms and many other community members who demand change. We will speak out to honor victims and survivors of gun violence, but we will also be building community with the people who are working to end gun violence in Illinois and across the nation. We encourage everyone to wear orange to show solidarity.
We must speak out. Our hearts go out to the victims and families. We owe it to them to focus on PREVENTING gun violence, not just arguing about it.
One of Linda’s top concerns is gun safety. She has been designated a Gun Sense Candidate. She and her team are part of the Everytown for Gun Safety community that is working to end gun violence and save lives. Linda believes that gun violence is not only tragic, it is avoidable. We must all stand up to support common sense gun safety legislation.
We can work together to ensure that our communities are safe and secure.
Please join us Friday, June 7th. Bring your friends, your neighbors and your signs! Don’t forget to wear orange.
