Linda Listens!
It’s been a busy campaign. So far, Linda and volunteers have knocked on nearly 15 ,000 doors. At every opportunity, Linda asks a question: “What issues most concern you?” People appreciate that Linda is really interested in understanding and supporting their needs. They see that she will speak with their voice in Springfield. They realize that:
- Linda really wants to know what people are thinking about. She wants to be able to represent their concerns and reality in Springfield.
- She values the chance to describe why she would be a better representative in Springfield–and to remind people to vote.
One of the most rewarding parts of canvassing door-to-door is meeting people who will be voting for Linda.
Here are some of the reasons people are voting for Linda:
- I have two daughters. I want Illinois to continue to protect their rights and safety.
- I’m a long-term Republican, but the party is going the wrong direction. I will vote Democratic.
- Linda is a scientist! Scientists are trained to solve complex problems, and I see Linda is already doing that.
- We need tax reform and Linda agrees property taxes are too high. She’ll do something about it.
- Because she will fight for laws that protect our air and water and to bring good clean energy jobs.
- I’m a kayaker. Linda is a water expert and will understand technical issues.
- Because I don’t even know who the current representative is. What has he done for me?
- Because Linda is really active in the community.
- Because she is for common sense gun safety. I don’t want to be afraid while my children are at school. There have been too many shootings.
- Because she will protect workers’ rights.
- I’m scared for my children’s future; we have to act now on climate change and conservation.
- Because I can’t find affordable childcare for my children, it means I can’t work.
- Because I have to wait months to get an appointment with a doctor.
- Because Linda has plans to reduce childcare & healthcare costs.
- Because she understands the problems of young families; affordable housing, healthcare and childcare.
- Linda knows how to work through issues and that it will require collaboration and compromise.
- Send a Scientist—we need more analytical thinkers and less politics.
