Successful Kane County Recycling Extravaganza

Saving the planet one battery at a time

The July 20th Kane County Recycling Extravaganza was a big success-and had the best weather we’ve ever seen! There were lots of volunteers. That was good because there were lots of carloads of recycling to be unloaded.  Kane County residents were able to recycle everything from electronics, TVs, computers, clothing, shoes & textiles, books, bicycles, Styrofoam, batteries, light bulbs, aerosols, child car seats and booster seats, smoke & CO detectors to latex paint.

As one of our volunteers said,

“It was great! It feels good to be a part of keeping all these items out of a landfill and to connect with people who are willing to come out on a Saturday morning to be responsible citizens and consumers!”

Team Linda kept busy, but it was satisfying work.  Linda wants to thank all the volunteers for their enthusiasm and energy.  We are fortunate to live in a county that provides services like recycling.  We’ll keep you posted on other environmentally friendly volunteer work.

Linda Robertson is a passionate environmentalist.  She will fight for clean water, air and energy. She will vote to speed up the transition to renewable energy and to increase energy efficiency.  She will be your voice in Springfield. Help us flip the district to blue!
