Calling all environmentalists and volunteers!
Here’s a great opportunity to reduce waste and promote responsible recycling.
We invite you to join the Linda Robertson volunteer team at the Kane County Recycling Extravaganza on Saturday, July 20th. Linda is a passionate environmentalist, so she understands how important recycling is, and how fortunate we are that Kane County sponsors these recycling events. The Kane County RECYCLING EXTRAVAGANZA will take place at 540 S. Randall Rd. This is the event where the greatest variety of materials are collected for proper recycling. It is the only time when Kane County will collect batteries (for free!), as well as fluorescent and LED bulbs, bicycles and even Styrofoam. Although there will not be document shredding on the 20th, there will be seven stations, each collecting “hard to recycle” stuff including: electronics (fee for TVs and computers), clothing, shoes & textiles, books, aerosols, child car seats & booster seats, smoke & CO detectors (for fee), latex paint, (or fee) & more!!
Volunteers will assist community members, helping them unload their recycling-and making sure everything gets deposited in the right places. Lots of volunteers are needed to make sure things run smoothly. Volunteer shifts run from 7:30 to noon and will be followed with a deep dish pizza lunch. To join Linda’s recycling volunteer team:
- When: Saturday, July 20th, 2024, 8am – noon. Rain or shine (will close or cancel for emergency weather conditions)
- Where: Circuit Court Building/”Old Montgomery Wards”, 540 S. Randall Road, St. Charles
